Kid's Heart ChallengeDuring our rope jumping unit, our students have the opportunity to learn the many ways how they can become heart healthy. The Kid's Heart Challenge has three folds:
1. Every student arrives to PE during the dance unit and has the chance to jump rope for their warm up exercise. During this time, students work on rope jumping skills and behaviors. Also, students are given a "healthy tip of the day" to take with them as they leave the gym. Music is playing, all students are jumping, and the teachers are giving feedback-so much fun! 2. Students will learn heart healthy facts and information that they can take with them forever! 3. The American Heart Association supports schools throughout the United States to fundraise for a great cause. Students have the chance to give back to their community and raise money for the American Heart Association. Broadmeadow has recently begun this process and has been doing a great job in raising money for a great cause! |
Bike RodeoWe had a very successful 3rd grade bike rodeo last spring! The students did a fantastic job engaging in the road race, bike safety, bike maintenance, and helmet safety. We couldn't be more proud of the way the students composed themselves and persevered during this monumental day. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us!

Field DayThis years field day was awesome! We had just about the entire school joining us out of the back fields for some fun filled activities. The school was split into two groups: grades 1-2 and grades 3-5. Although it was hot, we could not have asked for better weather! The students enjoyed themselves and I am sure the staff did as well, especially during the infamous staff relay races.
